החזון שלנו הוא לספק לאוכלוסיה הצעירה בירושלים מקום שבו יוכלו למצוא קהילה צעירה ותומכת,מקום שבו יוכלו ליצור ולתרום לעצמם ולחברה תחת הדרכתם של מוזיקאים מקצועיים,אמנים,ויועצי נוער

הבעיה

בשנים האחרונות,מאות צעירים ונוער מכל רחבי ישראל מגיעים לירושלים. הם מחפשים אינטראקציה חברתית,מפגש עם צעירים כמוהם,גירויים ומקומות שבהם יוכלו למצוא ריגוש ועניין.בהעדר אופציה אחרת,הם פונים לאלכוהול,סמים,עישון,אלימות,ושאר התנהגויות שליליות אחרות.נכון להיום,אין באמת מקומות שעונים על הצורך הזה באינטראקציה בריאה ובסביבה תומכת

מה זה הסובר

טרייסי שיפליי,יועצת למכורים ומרפאה ביצירה כבר 26 שנה, חלמה על מקום בטוח ללמידה ויצירה,מקום שבו קיימת קהילה חזקה וקיימות בו הזדמנויות ליצירה ותרומה לעצמך ולסביבה.בעזרת הרבה תמיכה ממתנדבים ותורמים פרטיים, המקום נפתח בספטמבר 2016  ממוקם בסוף רחוב שושן,במרכז העיר ירושלים. מאז שנפתח המקום,הצטרפו לקהילה של הסובר עשרות צעירים ונוער מכל רחבי ירושלים.במקום נערכים ערבי ג'אם,ערבי סרט,הרצאות ,חזרות של להקות צעירות ועוד. אנחנו גם מארגנים מסיבות ימי הולדת עם מוזיקה חייה שמחליך שתיית אלכהול. סובר מקום מפגש לצעירים ונוער מכל הרקעים החברתיים והמוזיקליים-דתיים,חילונים,ג'זיסטים

מטאליסטים,חובבי בלוז-כל אחד יכול למצוא פה את המקום שלו. ביחד הם מוכיחים שמוזיקה ואמנות מגשרים על כל מכשול.

Vision

To provide the young population of Jerusalem with an exciting place where they will find a healthy community of youth, a place to create and an opportunity to contribute to themselves and to society under the guidance of professional musicians, artists and youth counselors.

 

Issue

In recent years, hundreds of teens and young adults from all over Israel and abroad, migrate to the Jerusalem City Center looking for stimulation, excitement and social interaction. Unfortunately most of what they find is laced with alcohol, smoking, drugs, violence and other related negative behaviors and situations. To date there are no venues for youth providing a healthy environment where they can find what they seem to be truly looking for.

Response

Tracey Shipley, an Addictions Counselor and Creative Therapist for youth and families for over 26 years, envisioned the Sobar: a safe entertainment and learning center for youth; where they will find Community; Creativity and opportunities for Contribution.  Thanks to a larger group of amazing volunteers and private donors the Sobar opened in September 2016 located at the end of Shoshan street in downtown Jerusalem.  Since opening tens of youth aged 15-24 have joined the musical community at the Sobar jamming music every night, watching their peers play, joining our yoga and movie events, rehearsing their young bands and more. Sobar has hosted alcohol free birthday parties with live music by the youth for they youth replacing parties normally ridden with alcohol event with kids from the healthiest of families.  Youth of all backgrounds religious, secular, rockers, hippies, Jazz and Blues lovers and more have joined us feeling at home and utilizing their creative differences to enhance rather than separate.  Music and the arts cross over all language barriers.
